Steervane (“Steervane”, “we”, “us”) operates the website steervane.com and the Steervane application (the “Service”): an autonomous AI tool that researches a brand, plans content, generates posts (image, video, and copy), and publishes them to social channels on the user’s behalf, with human review.

1. Information we collect

• Account information — your email address and a password (stored only as a salted hash by our authentication provider; we never see your plaintext password).
• Brand information you provide — your brand name, website URL, description, voice, verified facts, dated events, offers, logos, and any media you upload. We may fetch and read your public website to understand your brand.
• Generated content — the drafts, images, videos, and captions the Service creates for you, and your approvals/edits.
• Connected channels — the access tokens and account identifiers needed to post to channels you connect (e.g. a Telegram/Discord bot token, or an authorization you grant for Instagram, TikTok, X, or LinkedIn through our publishing partner).
• Billing information — handled by PayPal. We receive confirmation of your subscription status; we do not collect or store your card or PayPal login details.
• Usage data — basic logs (e.g. requests, errors, timestamps) needed to run, secure, and debug the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide the Service — research your brand, generate content, and publish to the channels you connect.
• To operate your account, free trial, and subscription, and to provide support.
• To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse (e.g. review gates, rate limits).
• To communicate with you about your account or service changes.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use the content you provide to train third-party AI models for unrelated purposes.

3. Service providers (subprocessors)

To deliver the Service we share the minimum necessary data with these providers, each acting under their own terms and security obligations:

The brand details and prompts needed to create a post may be sent to the AI providers above to generate that post. Content you choose to publish is sent to the relevant social platform (and our publishing partner) to post it.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and brand data while your account is active. If you delete a brand or close your account, we delete or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or billing reasons.

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the EU/UK GDPR and the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. The website uses your browser’s local storage to remember your language preference and keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
